Production Diary from 24/08/12 to 3/09/12

Here is a video of our new moves with some of the originals as well.

Hello my name is Kaz and this is my production diary. I am in dance with Abbie, Crystal and Jemma. Our song is Stereo Hearts by Gym class heros and featuring Adam Levine

24/08/12 Rehearsing, half an hour since school started.

Dear Diary

Today I was in class and then Abbie came in and asked if she could have me for half an hour. I followed her to the hall and sort of skipped up the steps. I was thinking: “ Holy crab, we are doing our dance here in front of some people. Hope we don’t mess up!”. We waited and watched Hannah, Charlotte, Olivia and Lilly do their dance. They finished their dance, it was so cool. Our turn.

24/08/12 Rehearsing one hour since school started.

Dear Diary

Lovely! Our dance we mucked it up, in front of the whole team. Mrs Hodgson walked us out and took us to her room to practise. We found that it was really... what’s the word? Thats it, boring. We decided to take out a few parts like the half bridge, Chrystal’s flip, Abbie’s walkover, handstand and cartwheel into bridge. We added in heaps of other moves.

Here is a video of our new moves.

30/08/12 Rehearsing, half an hour since school started.

Dear Diary

I haven’t written in here because I have been too tired to write and there has been
Today we did another whole production practise and Miss Hill’s Itunes had a network problem so it didn’t have the right song that Miss Garland cut. She had to cut it because we didn’t do the rap and the second chorus so we stop at the rap. It was pretty short but we still got clapped for.  We had a lunchtime practise. Everyone who was waiting for their turn was dancing to the dances that were on stage. It was so funny to watch them on the floor doing our dance I couldn’t help giggling half way through. Abbie had tell me off.

3/09/12 Dress Rehearsal ten minutes since school started

Dear Diary

I LOVED IT!! It was so cool how went along it smoothly apart from some people talking and interrupting.  The first show is tonight and I am so excited!!!! =0 =D. Mum has already bought the tickets to tonight’s show. I can’t wait for it. We have to arrive at school at twenty past six at night. I don’t know what else to write. Wait a minute.  One minute later. I know what else to write! We have the lights up in the hall already so when we are dancing the lights are changing colour. I also  found out that we are going to have different coloured hair and eyeshadow. Abbie is purple, Jemma is pink, Crystal is green and I am blue!

We have been so busy with the production we even have a writing diary we can fill out. Here is my one from the 24th of August to the 3rd of September.

This a maths problem that Jake and I did together. The question is 8x36. We had to find different strategies for the problem. Can you think of any more?

The Scary poem!

Here is me and Casey recording our 'Scary Poem' that we did with Mrs Mac and here are the words so you can read along. Hope you enjoy!

There once was a lizard that traveled through a snow blizzard.
He would creep out at night to have a fight while you go to sleep he would go beep like an alarm clock, he will come in and undo lock.

There was a moan outside and groan inside. What will it be? Lets go out and see.

We walked out of the castle and saw his muscle, and he scrambled us like eggs, then he hung us on the washing line by our legs with pegs.

Once we got down he stood there with a frown. His friend behind him was acting like a clown.

The clown was so scary we said: "Oh my god you are so hairy!" The clown was embarrassed and had a fit but the evil lizard hit him and told him he was being a wuss.

The friends went back into the castle when we heard a hustle and bustle within the castles walls. When we turned around we saw a mouse and then he said: "Get out of my house!"

There was a vampire eating garlic we thought this was odd but then he saw us and he jumped up and bit us in the neck but before we died we said: “What the heck?”

My Greek vase!

My Vase
This is my vase I made for the 2012 Olympics and for the hall because of the team five production. I used brown, a gold kinda colour and yellow. My vase had to tell a story from the 2012 Olympics. Here is my story.  Mr Moriarty got the idea from Parkvale Room 5 Kidd-li-Winks's blog.

Valerie Adams throws the ball and it travels through the air. Then she won silver with her throw. Later on down the track she found out that she actually won gold because the Belarusian cheated.

My Koru art!

2 weeks ago it was Maori Language week. We did koru art and the colours had to be positive and negative or complimentary colours. I chose purple and yellow.
Here is our success criteria and a pic of a koru from Google Images.

Valerie Adams!

Valerie Adams

Valerie Adams is a gold medal shotput athlete. She is the reigning women's Olympic champion and three-time World champion, two-time Commonwealth and World Indoor champion. She currently holds the New Zealand, Oceanian, Commonwealth and equal World Championship records with a personal best throw of 21.24 metres.

Valerie is one of seven athletes to win World Championships in the youth, junior and senior athletic events. She met Kirsten Hellier in 1998 and this proved to be a turning point in her life. The pair combined for the next 11½ years until their relationship broke up in 2010. In that time Hellier, a former javelin champion, was Adam's’ friend, mentor, adviser and coach.

Valerie was born in Rotorua New Zealand on the 6th of October 1984, to a Tongan mother and an English father (Sydney Adams). She showed potential at several sports, because not only was she exceptionally tall and strong, but she was nimble and athletic as well.

This is my Athlete biograph on Valerie Adams. It has links to Wikipedia about the people underlined.

The Auckland Mouse and the Hawke's Bay Mouse

The Auckland Mouse and the Hawke’s Bay Mouse
Based on The Town mouse and the Country Mouse
Let me tell you about two mice that one day decided to visit each other.
Once upon a time an Auckland mouse caught a plane to Hawke’s Bay to visit his cousin. Now this mouse had name and it was Lucas. His cousin’s name was Tim.
Luke (short for his real name) had on his new suit he got from the drycleaners, a suitcase with some of his summer clothes and some more suits because Auckland mousey was going to stay in sunny Hawke’s Bay for a week.
Luke set off on his way to The Fruit Bowl Hawke’s Bay via Taupo for a stop. Down in the Bay Tim was preparing his mouse hole for his cousin coming.
He was moving his furniture round and dusting, vacuuming and he was also making Mac and Cheese for tea. He just finished vacuuming before his cousin knocked on the door.
“Hello there Timmy! I haven't seen you in ages!”
“Same here Lucas!” replied Tim. They sat down and Luke explained about his city he lives in and about his job. “My mouse hole is amazing! It is very flash with wall lights and a cheese oven! Maybe your mousehole needs a bit of a spruce up! Come to Auckland with me and you will find out really how to live!”
They set out on their adventure to Auckland!

“Now this is my mousehole. See, see, see I got my own letterbox! That is FLASH!  Ooh! Mail. Shall we go inside Timmy?”
“Yes we shall! But can we have a look around the outside your mousehole?” replied Tim.
“Ah... Yes we can. Follow me!”
So Tim followed Luke to the back yard. There he saw his garden, trees, maze and spa! (Complete with staff and massages.) Pool, BBQ area and Outside lounge.
“This is all so flash Lukey but how much did this all cost?” complimented Tim.
“Umm well I have a job and I make money because I am 2IC at Shortland Street hospital and I don’t mean to brag but I get hundred dollars a fortnight. So that is how I can get all of this and still pay the bills!!”
After Tim had seen the outside it was time for the inside and for some tea of ‘Luke’s Surprise!’. A special mix of food. “So how did you like the back yard Timmy?”
“It was awesome, but do you have any cattle or sheep? I do in my backyard.”
Lucas hesitated for a minute and then said “Well no but you have because you live on a farm! Dah!”

At last a week flew by and it was time for Tim to go back down to Hawkes Bay and buy some flash stuff for his house but not too flash.

“I’ll miss you Cuz!” says Lucas.
“I will too Lukey. We might have to catch up next month,” replied Tim.

The next month Lucas drove down to Hawke’s Bay and the two caught up again.

Bye.

This is my retelling of The Town Mouse and Country Mouse. I did it at home and did some of it at school. It is based on The Town Mouse and The Country Mouse. This is the New Zealand version. Hope you like it!
