Reflection for 2012!

I enjoyed learning Rock 'n' Roll
because it is really fun and very fast.

I do not want to leave Parkvale School because I love Parkvale and all its opportunities. 

My favourite thing was Kids for Kids.

I have been in many events like netball, T ball, Volleyball, Sport PAL, Kids for Kids, Team 3 and 4 Gymnastics, Inter-school Athletics and Kids Sing.

Chapter two, A mystery to solve

Casey and I are walking down the path before we hear something behind us. We stop and I say “I think I know what that is.”
“So do I,” Casey says.
We spin round slowly and find the big monster five paces following us. I nudge Case with my arm and say “Run.”

I run with Lizard not far behind me to the same tree I hid behind the first I time met the big thing. Casey steps out and I say “CASEY DON’T!”
Too late. She gets picked up and thrown into the electric fence. I use magic to make the monster run away.

I run over to Casey to make sure she is too badly hurt. She is awake but only a little. I ring Mum to come get us. “Mum said she will come in about an hour,” I say to Casey.

An hour passes and Mum is still not here. In the paddock we see a cow. “Moo!” it says
“Hello! My name is Flossie the cow. I am so lonely here. I want someone to be my friend, or friends.”
Casey and I both say  “Why can the cow talk?”
“I can talk because a witch put a spell on me. I am really a normal girl like you two. Now, what is the problem over here girlies?”  Flossie says.
“Casey has been thrown into the fence and has been hurt but it isn’t that bad. My Mum isn’t here yet so could I put her on your back and you take her to my house?” I say.
“Who? Your mum or Casey?”
“Uh, Casey of course. She is the one hurt here!”
“Oh yeah. I knew that!”
“No you didn’t!”
“Just get Casey on my back.”

We get home, me, Lizard and Flossie the cow.  I put Case on the couch.
“What can we do to turn you back into a normal girl again?” I say to Flossie.
“I was watching when Fred threw your friend into the fence and then you used magic to frighten him off. I was wondering if you can use some of that magic to turn me back into a normal girl again. MOO!”
“Is Fred the big hairy monster?” I ask.
“Yes he is.” Flossie says.
“Ok, I will use my magic to you back into a normal girl again.”

POOF! PANG! POOF!

My magic goes. Then suddenly, very suddenly, a girl appears and she says,  “IT WORKED! I AM A NORMAL GIRL AGAIN! Thank you Kazzie.”
“Your welcome. Do you know everything about Fred and could you possible tell us?” I say.
“I can but you will have to listen carefully because I get a little mucked up. I have only been a cow for two years and Fred has been around for at least fifteen years. If someone is walking down the road he would come out and follow them then at the right time he would start running after them then once Fred has caught up to them he would throw them into the fence and the person would be injured plus no one would know and the person would slowly die a horrible death.”
“Lucky Casey wasn’t one of them.” I say.
“Are talking about me? I think you are because I am so

GORGEOUS!!

”
“Yeah we are Lizard. I think we need to find a bit more information about Fred. Will it be on the internet?”
“Might be. I don’t know.”

“I have an idea!” I say. “We go out tonight at twelve o'clock and try and find Fred. Then I will use some magic and make Fred tell us why he does all these things he does. It will last for about an hour and a half. Sound like a plan?”
Everyone says it is.  
We go out at twelve o'clock and wait till we hear Fred.

This is the second chapter of ‘A journey through a Tunnel of trees’. Don’t too freaked out about our safety when we try to find Fred. Hope you like my writing and please comment.

A journey through a tunnel of trees. Chapter one, The Tunnel and the Monster.

Chapter one, The Tunnel and the Monster

I am walking through a tunnel of branches. I can feel the cool breeze on my back, I see up ahead a delicate golden sunset, I smell flowers of different types, I hear the flutter of bird wings, I taste the gravel that has been picked up and swept into my face by the wind.

I am travelling to my house that is at the end of this road. Then I hear a footstep behind me. I spin round to find a big black figure five paces behind me following.
I run.

I run as fast as I can until I find a tree big enough to fit me behind so I can hide. I wait for an hour. “That thing must be gone by now.” I whisper to myself. I come out of my hiding place only to see the big black thing right in front of me. “Hi.” I say scaredly.
“I’m just going to....”
I run away again

I keep running and I miss the driveway to my house!  “What is that thing and where is it?” I say to myself. I then stopped in my tracks and looked behind me.  Nothing. Absolutely nothing so I spin round and find I am standing in front of a gigantic thing. It is hairy and brown and stinks like rotten fish and cow poo.
“I think you are in the wrong place at the wrong time!” the giant says. “GO BEFORE I PICK YOU UP AND THROW YOU INTO THE ELECTRIC FENCE OVER THERE!”
Again, I run.

The next day, I told Mum that I was going to Casey’s and she says “Ok. Be back at seven pm. Take your phone!”

I arrive at Casey’s and she says that we should go to the forest.
“The one that is on the way to my house?” I say, frightened.
“Well yeah, it’s the only forest around.”

So we go for a walk to the forest and on the way I tell Lizard what happened yesterday afternoon. “Whoa! That is weird. Tell me again because I wasn't listening.”
“SERIOUSLY!” I yell in anger.

This is my writing of a journey through a tunnel of trees. This is the first chapter and the second chapter is coming.

Here is the picture that we had to make the story about. We all used our senses in our writing and there is a list of them on the picture.

My Maths test

This is my maths test. I used three different strategies. Doubling and Halving, Place Value and Rounding and Compensating. Here is a photo of my maths.

Production Diary Part 2. 4/09/12 in front of the school to 4/09/12 Night show.

4/09/12 Dress Rehearsal ten minutes since school started

Dear Diary

We did the show in front of the school and they really loved it! They were singing to the songs of the dances and they joined in with the clapping, clicking and arm waving. At the end of it Miss Hill said that we were really good and something we all need to work on is (if we are speaking) to be a bit more clearer and just a bit slower.  If we are in dance like I am we need bigger actions. That’s all.


4/09/12 Production in front of 100 add some minus some. 10 minutes before performing

Dear Diary

I was so scared this time. I wasn’t last night.  I  watch the green is gold play go up and I said to myself: “Just remember big actions try not to smile too much and remember ATTITUDE.” We were on next.

Dear Diary
We did our dance and I remembered everything I said before in my last entry. We came back and sat down in our seats. I saw Xavier looking around. He spotted me and gave me a thumbs up. I smiled back.  After the whole production was over I ran to room eighteen to get changed, then with Casey went to find mum. We got to the gate and Mum was talking to someone. She told us to stay at the gate but we kept walking forward. “We got told to stay here!” Casey said. We started having a conversation about cheese. Lizard started it.  We took her home and then went home ourselves. I walked into the lounge and Dad said that I could have the last bit of pizza.

This the second part of my Diary. It is all the same day but different times. Hope you like it! Part Three is coming. Won't  be long! :c)

24/08/12 Rehearsing, half an hour since school started.

Dear Diary

Today I was in class and then Abbie came in and asked if she could have me for half an hour. I followed her to the hall and sort of skipped up the steps. I was thinking: “ Holy crab, we are doing our dance here in front of some people. Hope we don’t mess up!”. We waited and watched Hannah, Charlotte, Olivia and Lilly do their dance. They finished their dance, it was so cool. Our turn.

24/08/12 Rehearsing one hour since school started.

Dear Diary

Lovely! Our dance we mucked it up, in front of the whole team. Mrs Hodgson walked us out and took us to her room to practise. We found that it was really... what’s the word? Thats it, boring. We decided to take out a few parts like the half bridge, Chrystal’s flip, Abbie’s walkover, handstand and cartwheel into bridge. We added in heaps of other moves.

Dear Diary

I haven’t written in here because I have been too tired to write and there has been
Today we did another whole production practise and Miss Hill’s Itunes had a network problem so it didn’t have the right song that Miss Garland cut. She had to cut it because we didn’t do the rap and the second chorus so we stop at the rap. It was pretty short but we still got clapped for.  We had a lunchtime practise. Everyone who was waiting for their turn was dancing to the dances that were on stage. It was so funny to watch them on the floor doing our dance I couldn’t help giggling half way through. Abbie had tell me off.


3/09/12 Dress Rehearsal ten minutes since school started

Dear Diary

I LOVED IT!! It was so cool how went along it smoothly apart from some people talking and interrupting.  The first show is tonight and I am so excited!!!! =0 =D. Mum has already bought the tickets to tonight’s show. I can’t wait for it. We have to arrive at school at twenty past six at night. I don’t know what else to write. Wait a minute.  One minute later. I know what else to write! We have the lights up in the hall already so when we are dancing the lights are changing colour. I also  found out that we are going to have different coloured hair and eyeshadow. Abbie is purple, Jemma is pink, Crystal is green and I am blue!


We have been so busy with the production we even have a writing diary we can fill out. Here is my one from the 24th of August to the 3rd of September.

The Scary poem!

Here is me and Casey recording our 'Scary Poem' that we did with Mrs Mac and here are the words so you can read along. Hope you enjoy!

There once was a lizard that traveled through a snow blizzard.

He would creep out at night to have a fight while you go to sleep he would go beep like an alarm clock, he will come in and undo lock.

There was a moan outside and groan inside. What will it be? Lets go out and see.

We walked out of the castle and saw his muscle, and he scrambled us like eggs, then he hung us on the washing line by our legs with pegs.

Once we got down he stood there with a frown. His friend behind him was acting like a clown.

The clown was so scary we said: "Oh my god you are so hairy!" The clown was embarrassed and had a fit but the evil lizard hit him and told him he was being a wuss.

The friends went back into the castle when we heard a hustle and bustle within the castles walls. When we turned around we saw a mouse and then he said: "Get out of my house!"

There was a vampire eating garlic we thought this was odd but then he saw us and he jumped up and bit us in the neck but before we died we said: “What the heck?”

Mandy's Garden art!

Our class and Team 4 and 5 went to a production that Years 1 and 2 did called Mandy's Garden. It was about looking after your garden. Then our teacher Mr M said that we could do art on the production.  This is my art that I did. Hope you like it!

Reflection for maths knowledge test

· Something I was pleased with was subtraction facts

because I got all of them right.

· I really enjoyed learning my fractions

because fractions are not that hard but sometimes they are and now I have learnt more fractions.

· Something I found hard was the write the words.

· Something that made me think was the how many because I don’t quite know my remainders yet. E.g 100’s in 3516___ remainder ___

· Something I want to get better at is rounding

Pike somersaults.

On Tuesdays I go to gymnastics, and this week I learnt to do a Pike somersault. I feel proud that I got it right and my coach is awesome!! Here is a video of me doing a pike somersault! It is really cool!

Tasting Sweet Summer.

Summer!  

Do you remember tasting summer?  

I do!!   

Swimming with your best friend and getting sore from swimming? That was summer.  

Stepping on to the hot sand with shoes on and it coming into your shoes and burning? That was summer.

Lying on the soft green grass and getting dead grass on your shirt and your arms and legs itching from the grass? That was summer.

When you were climbing your favourite tree and the wind made your hair turn into a whirlpool? That was summer.

Do you remember sitting on the couch eating an ice cream and chocolate making a puddle in your lap?  

That was summer.   

Going to Camp Kaitawa and wanting to jump into Lake Waikaremoana!  

That was summer!

More from Neelix. Neelix and the monarch butterfly.

“Where’s the camera Mum?” I asked her. I asked for the camera because I put a dandelion on Neelix’s ear. BUT when I got back he had shaken the flower off and had pounced on a monarch butterfly. I picked Neelix up and said to him.

”What did you do you mean kitty cat? You killed an innocent butterfly!!!” I took a video of him anyway. “This is Neelix. The mean cat that did this!” I swung the camera around onto the butterfly. “You are a mean puddy cat Neelix. Mean mean mean!”

Then I put the camera on him and asked questions. “Would you call yourself a murderer?” Then he flicked his tail at me and at the camera and got fur all over the lens and lay down by the fence.

I wiped the fur off on my shorts. Neelix had got up and left and I got a picture of him racing across the road. “Stupid kitty cat!!” I yelled out to him. I got the opportunity to get a video and a couple of photos.

This  is my Swimming Assessment.   

I am pleased with my freestyle because it has gotten better since last year. 

3D shapes

This is my 3D shape. It is a hexagonal prism. 

It has nine faces,  eighteen edges and twelve vertices.
It is put together with only tape. I got this net from Adrian Bruce website.
